A Heartfelt Tradition at Pear Bloom Farm

Every year, we kick off the start of the season at Pear Bloom Farm with something truly special — the Pear Bloom Fun Run! This beloved tradition, now in its 4th year, was born from a simple idea to celebrate the beauty of the pear blooms and the arrival of spring. Inspired by my husband, George, who has a deep passion for running, this started as a small gathering and has grown into a heartwarming community celebration. It's amazing to see familiar faces return each year, and to welcome newcomers who join us in honoring the pear blooms that make this time of year so magical.

Running Through Spring Beauty

This year will mark our 4th Annual Pear Bloom Fun Run, and we can hardly wait! Looking back on last year, we are especially fond of it, as it was the first time we hosted the run at our new farm. The 5k started right here, with participants receiving custom bibs designed just for the occasion. Of course, before the run began, we gathered everyone for a group selfie (because what’s a run without a good photo, right?)

As the runners took off, they ventured through our beautiful pear orchard, surrounded by vibrant dandelions on the ground and pear blooms hanging above. It was one of those perfect spring days — sunny with not a cloud in the sky. And, we were lucky because both Mt Hood and Mt Adams were visible in all their majestic glory, adding the perfect backdrop to the run.

After crossing the finish line, runners were treated to something a little unexpected — a fresh pear straight from our orchard! Not only was it a refreshing and delicious treat after their hard work, but it also brought smiles to everyone’s faces. It’s those little surprises that make the day even more special.

A Day for the Kids to Enjoy

Now, let’s talk about the kiddos! Watching them run alongside the vibrant, blooming tulips was truly one of the highlights of the day. The tulips were so bright and colorful, creating a beautiful backdrop as children of all ages (even some in strollers!) joyfully raced with Mt. Adams towering in the distance. The energy was absolutely contagious, and we couldn’t help but smile at the sight of so many little faces filled with excitement and pure joy.

Tulips

After the run, it was such a treat to watch families wander alongside the blooms, U-picking their favorite tulips. Many took home stunning bouquets as a keepsake, a wonderful way to celebrate their little ones’ participation in the fun.

Dandelions

The orchard was also filled with dandelions, which we turned into flower crowns — the best way to celebrate the sunshine and the arrival of spring. It was such a beautiful day, full of laughter, creativity, and blooms!

We are so excited to host this again this year! It’s such a joy to be part of this experience and to watch it continue to grow. We’re looking forward to seeing both new and familiar faces this time around, and we hope you'll join us to help celebrate the start of another fantastic season at Pear Bloom Farm. Here's to another year of making memories.

With love,

Yesenia
